The ATPI Group is an international travel business with a complete range of travel related services. The Group (ATPI Ltd.) is headquartered in London and is the ultimate holding company for all of the businesses that have been acquired, formed or franchised with ATPI in the years since the organisation was formed. It employs over 1040 people (FTE) in 20 countries as well as partners in another four with many more planned. In 2009 Group revenues were in excess of €750 million.

Background

In its current form the ATPI Group was formed in 2006 by a Management Buyout of two separate trading companies in the UK and Netherlands from a single private investor. The buyout was funded by Lloyds Development Capital and the management team led by Group CEO Graham Ramsey. The story of the brand begins much earlier in the late 1990’s when Dutch travel management company Active Travel partnered with an investment firm to consolidate travel companies across Holland. The UK sister company was formed when the same investor backed the acquisition of two key UK players Seaforths and Ayscough Travel.

The management team that acquired the businesses in 2006 are the same executives that built the business over the previous years. This same team then went through a round of secondary funding with Barclays Private Equity in 2008 before acquiring Instone International for in June 2009, the lowest point of the economy. To this date the ATPI Group is managed and co-owned by its founders.
